A meeting and demonstration in solidarity with the revolutionary movement in Turkey was held in Rawlakot, Kashmir at the office of Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign (PTUDC).
Students and Trade Union leaders and activists attended the meeting and participated in the demonstration.
Haleem Sajid from Post Office department chaired the meeting while Comrade Yasir Irshad addressed it and explained the whole process going on in Turkey today where hundreds of thousands of people have come out against the brutal policies of the Erodgan regime. Torture, arrests and tear gas are being used by the regime to stop the movement, but it is spreading like wild fire. Now the people are demanding the resignation of Erodgan.
In Pakistan and Kashmir reactionary forces were projecting Turkey as an Islamic model, but their false rhetoric is now exposed as the people of Turkey has rejected this hypocritical model based on blood-thirsty capitalism.
Many students of the Jammu Kashmir National Students Federation and Peoples Students Federation participated in the meeting enthusiastically and vowed to support the struggle in Turkey and hold meetings in various colleges and universities of Kashmir.
Trade Union Leaders from various public sector departments were also present at the occasion and extended their solidarity.
