During the strike by the workers of the Vahed Company for the release of Mansour Ossanlou and signing a collective contract, on 28 January 2006 a large group of student, labour and other activists had gone to various depots to support the bus drivers.
The students of Tehran University, after publishing a statement supporting the just demands of the Vahed workers, had gone to a number of bus depots to show their solidarity with the drivers.
A group of students, including Said Habibi, Behrooz Karimizadeh, Mazdak Toosinejad, Soroosh Dashtestani, Hooman Kazemian, Majid Ashrafnejad, Kaveh Abbasian, Hesam Tahmatan, Ali Noori, Milad Karimi, Saeb Karimi, were arrested by the security forces in front of the Area 6 Terminus and there is still no further information about them.
The total number of arrested bus drivers, their leaders, their families (including their young children and wives), as well as students and other activists, now exceeds 700.
